Since his first official game on the field for Corona Del Mar’s varsity football team, 2012 High School All American Griff Amies has given us every reason to know he means business. His opening night he kicked a school record 52 yard field goal and continued the rest of the season with the same momentum, breaking records every chance he could get. He completed the 2012 season with 22 field goals, which tied the California state record and totaled the most field goals of any kicker in the nation . Griff”s 22 field goals places him second nationally for the most field goals in a season in the history of High School Football. Griff broke a total of 7 Corona Del Mar high school records including most field goals in a game, longest field goal, most kick off yards in a season, and most consecutive field goals in a season.

He excels at accurately and consecutively driving the ball through the posts and in his 2012 season made 100% of his kicks from 40 to 52 yards out. Griff is always looking for the opportunity to prove he is capable under pressure and thrives on showing those watching he’s the best at what he does. He knows that his success only comes from the dedication and hard work he puts into improving his game. He will be playing for the Orange Coast College Pirates for the 2013 season and is eager to show those watching that he can do more than what’s already been seen of him.
